Recent Earthquakes

•  EARTHQUAKE IN BRAZIL???
  EMSC Data: Magnitude 5.8 strong earthquake (@33 km depth) in Mato Grosso, Brazil with epicenter located 128 km SE Aripuana (pop 26,983) and 258 km NE Ji-parana (pop 100,118). It is Very dangerous looking its magnitude and location. Though the earthquake in not confirmed. Is it ERROR!!

  After checking local seismological sites, we assure that this Earthquake in Brazil hasn't occurred. It may be hoax or error of recording magnitude of neighboring Bolivia Earthquake!!

  USGS hasn't mentioned about this earthquake!!
• Magnitude 6.2 earthquake in Beni, Bolivia with epicenter located 51 km S Trinidad (pop 84,259). Max. felt intensity is III which indicates weak shaking because of greater depth.

• Magnitude 5.2 earthquake (@ 27.5 km depth) in Indonesia with epicenter located 171 km SW of Padang, Sumatra, Indonesia. The epicenter is in Sea water and far from residential area which will faintly felt.
  16:45 UTC (local time Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:45:19 PM at epicenter)
•  Magnitude 4.6 very shallow moderate earthquake (@5 km depth) in Central Turkey with epicenter located just below Sarioglan (pop 5,393), Turkey. It is felt as far as Kayseri (pop 592,840), Turkey. Many aftershocks were recorded after M 7.2 Very deadly Turkey Earthquake in Eastern part now this is the strongest earthquake to hit Central Turkey in recent days.

• Magnitude 4.1 earthquake (150 km depth) in Romania with epicenter just below Siriu, Romania. Slightly felt around epicenter being at greater depth which is 56 km NW Buzau (pop 130,954), Romania.

• Magnitude 4.6 aftershocks in Eastern Turkey with epicenter located 20 km (12 miles) WSW of Van, Turkey. The epicenter is in lake Van which is well felt around the location. The earlier M 7.2 Very deadly Turkey earthquake 2011 killed 605+ people.

• Magnitude 3.0 minor earthquake in Southern Italy with epicenter located 15 km NE Foggia (pop 154,551) and 19 km SW Manfredonia (pop 57,335). It is well felt around the epicenter area.

Recent Cyclones

• Kenneth 11 with active storm having current maximum sustained wind speed 23 m/s. It is far away from Land.
• Sean-11 with active storm having current maximum sustained wind speed 17 m/s. Green Alert for Bermuda.
  Disaster Note: Tropical storm Sean 11 has affected 66 thousand people with winds above 39mph.In addition, few people are living in coastal areas below 5m and can therefore be affected by storm surge.

Recent Floods

• Thailand Flood- Death Toll At 567

• Orange Flood Alert In Cambodia. The flood which started with Tropical Storm, Monsoonal Rain about three months has killed 264 people till date. Approximately 13466.62 km2 area has been affected by the flood. GDACS has given this flood a severity class 2.
• Flood in Columbia has killed 48 people and displaced 55 people within a week. People were evacuated from Manizales, Caldas region.
  
• Flood in Kenya has killed 4 people till today. The flood which started a week ago has affected 41010.11 km2 area.
• Flood in Philippines have displaced 30000 people. However no fatality is reported. Flood is still active in Boyugan East, Gawil, Poblacion and Sicade area.

Recent Landslides

• Landslide in Malaysia which is caused due to heavy monsoon. Now Malaysia is in High Alert for Landslides. Government is creating awareness about it by publishing notices teaching about different signs and symbols used during the disasters to be safe. Heavy damage is expected. However its too early to get any damage reports.

Recent Volcanoes 

• Volcanic Eruption On Hierro Canary Islands located in Spain. During 2-8 November, 364 seismic events were recorded at depths of 16-23 km. During 4-5 November authorities evacuated about 80 residents from areas in Frontera due to landslide risks. Hierro contains the greatest concentration of young vents in the Canary Islands. Some days earlier, the toxic gases get mixed in the air.
  Yesterday M 3.3 earthquake stuck  in the Canary island area.

  M 3.3 minor earthquake (@ 22 km depth) stuck Canary Islands, Spain region at 16:46 UTC
• Volcanic Eruption On Nyamuragira Democratic Republic of Congo. It is the Africa's most active volcano. Eruption still continues here in Nyamuragira.  video of eruption in Nyamuragira which shows it to be still active.However, The city of Goma, near the volcano, remains unaffected.
  The lava on Mount Nyamulagira in Congo spurted up to 300 meters high. Meanwhile Virunga Park, best known for its endangered mountain gorillas, is now inviting tourists to go on overnight treks to see a volcano spurting fountains of lava.
  UPDATE
  Lava flow have reached within 5 km of Kalengera-Tongo road. It is the area of Gorillas but they are far to be affected.
