M 5.2 moderate earthquake is recorded in ARAUCANIA, CHILE. It is in Bio Bio region. People of Bio Bio, Chile have experienced it well. The epicenter is just 19 km SW Angol (pop 44,856 ) & 66 km SW Los Angeles (pop 125,430).





An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 strike OFFSHORE O'HIGGINS, CHILE some minutes earlier. The earthquake at 17:18 UTC is 75 km SW San antonio (pop 85,651)
  • 123 km (76 miles) SSW (197°) from Valparaiso, Chile
  • 147 km (91 miles) WSW (241°) from SANTIAGO, Chile
  • 152 km (94 miles) NNW (346°) from Talca, Chile

    There was strong M 5.6 earthquake on September 14 in the same area. However do damage or injuries were reported that time too.
