Israel earthquake 2020: M3.7 earthquake rattles Arava region

April 10, 2020: Magnitude 3.7 light earthquake has been recorded in Southern Israel today, The Geological Survey of Israel confirmed.

The earthquake occurred at 15 km depth. The quake's epicenter was located in Hatzeva area in the Arava region of Israel.

Earlier this week, an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 was felt in the area surrounding the Red Sea city of Eilat.

Israel sits on the Sinai microplate, which is believed to be the subsection of the gigantic Nubian plate. Most of the geologist agree that Israel is hundreds of years overdue for a massive earthquake which can happen anytime.
