M4.4 earthquake tremor rattles Rawalpindi and Islamabad

Update 09:15 UTC

Magnitude 4.4 light earthquake has been recorded in the area. According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the epicenter of the earthquake was near Afghanistan-Tajikistan-Pakistan border.

The earthquake occurred at a greater depth of 176 km. This is the reason the tremor was felt in the wider areas.
