Flooding in Mozambique kills 28 dead — Leaves 58,000 affected

January 23, 2020: Flooding in Mozambique since December 2019 has claimed lives of at least 28 people, injuring 66 and affecting more than 58,000.

The worst flood hit provinces have been identified as Zambezia, Cabo Delgado and Sofala where around 17,432 people, 13,169 and 6,328 have been affected respectively. 

Flooding disaster damaged more than 10,200 houses. National Disaster Management Institute (INGC) has provided assistance to around 10,000 people.
