March 11, 2019: Severe flooding in thirteen districts of southern Malawi has claimed lives of at least 28 people.
According to Chipiliro Khamula, a spokesman for Malawi's Department of Disaster Management in the Ministry of Homeland Security, around 124 people have been missing in recent disaster.
A state of disasters has been declared in the areas.
A low pressure system moved into southern Malawi on March 6, causing continuous wide-spread rains accompanied by strong wind, Xinhua reported.
