April 25, 2016: Earthquake in Vienna, Austria today measures 4.2

A light earthquake of magnitude 4.2 rattled Vienna and Lower Austria at 12:28 pm Monday afternoon on April 25, 2016.

According to the Austrian Central Institute for Meteorology and Geo dynamics, the quake's epicenter was located 18 km SW of Vienna.

The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 5 km and was well felt in Vienna. People of Wien and  Klosterneuburg also reported a quick jolt felt in their areas.

The tremor was even felt in Brno and Mohelno areas of Czech Republic.

No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported.
