Heavy rainfall lashed most areas of the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday with Police on stand by for any emergency due to the bad weather in Sharjah.
Hailstorm also lashed the Abu Dhabi. Schools have been closed since Wednesday.
The downpour caused heavy flooding in the Remraam complex in Dubai. The Dubai Police recorded at least 253 traffic accidents in a span of seven hours.
The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology recorded 294 millimetres of rainfall on Wednesday near Al-Ain.
Rainwater flooded dozens of homes in Sharjah. Sharjah Police rescued 30 families in Kalba, Khor Fakkan and Al Madam areas, The National reported.
Sharjah Civil Defence have urged people not to go outside in the flooded water.
Sharjah Police have closed down the street leading to Wadi Al Hellow. However no serious accidents have been recorded, Khaleej Times reported quoting Col. Abdulrahman Al Shawaf, Director of patrol and traffic at Sharjah Police.

Floods in Hatta swept away a car, claiming life of a 7-year-old boy. His other two brothers managed to escape. Flooding also severely affected Abu Dhabi and Dubai, causing suspension of flights at Abu Dhabi airport for several hours.
