Flooding in Australia claimed life of a person after his car swept off a flooded road south-west of Bundaberg in southern Queensland.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM), nearly 150 millimetres of rain fell across the Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast regions in the 24 hours to Sunday morning.
"The man died on a flooded section of Delaneys Road at St Kilda just after 1:00am," ABC News reported.
Emergency crews rescued two women and two children from floodwater at Appletree Creek, near Childers.
The State Emergency Service received dozens of requests regarding leaky roofs and minor storm damage from Gladstone to the northern Sunshine Coast.
Severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of the Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett, and Darling Downs and Granite Belt.
Tropical warning issued for Western Australia
A Red Alert has been issued for people between Port Hedland and Wallal, including Pardoo, Eighty Mile and Wallal. People in these regions should immediately move to shelters.
