Magnitude 5.0 Sindhupalchowk aftershock sparks fear in Kathmandu valley

According to Nepal Seismological Center, magnitude 5.0 moderate aftershock has been recorded in Sindhupalchowk at 07:41 am. The epicenter was located near Kiwool.

No immediate damage or injuries have been reported.

Bal KC, a local resident has reported on our Facebook page : "It was 7:45 AM on 2 July, 2015, a big tremor felt in Jawalakhel. It must be more than 5.0 nearby with less depth."

At 05:26 am, an aftershock of magnitude 4.1 was also felt in Kathmandu valley. The epicenter was located in Kavre.

Yesterday, at least three light aftershocks rattled Nepal, taking the total number of aftershocks of magnitude 4 or greater in the country to 338 after the major April 25 earthquake which killed nearly 9,000 people.
