Typhoon Kujira, which made landfall in Vietnam, has left nine dead and six others missing as of Thursday morning.
Son La Province has been the hardest hit with eight fatalities caused by flash floods and landslides, Thanh Nien News reported quoted the provincial Steering Committee on Search and Rescue.
The floods also damaged 23 houses and two irrigation works and destroyed around 80 hectares of crops. Landslides have halted traffic on many roads in Lao Cai, Lai Chau and Dien Bien Provinces
Typhoon Kujira also forced a SilkAir flight from Singapore to make an emergency landing in Haikou on Tuesday.
