Port-au-Price flood kills 6 in recent Haiti natural disaster

Flooding triggered by heavy rainfall in Haitian capital Port-au-Price has claimed lives of at least six people and damaged more than 8,000 homes.

Recent floods in Port-au-Price have displaced 45 families. More than 8,379 homes are flooded and 46 homes are totally destroyed, Radio Metropole Haiti mentioned quoting the Directorate of Civil Protection and the Interior Ministry.

Three of the deaths occurred in the metropolitan area and three others in Delmas, and Carrefour. In total 8,413 families are affected due to recent natural disasters in Port-au-Prince, Haiti Sentinel reported.

Heavy downpour has been reported in the southern peninsula of Haiti from last seven days.
