Yellowstone Volcano Eruption 2015: USGS latest report shows 78 earthquakes

The latest update of the Yellowstone volcano by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) has shown total 78 registered earthquakes in the Yellowstone National Park region in February 2015.

The largest event was a small earthquake of magnitude 2.4 on February 03 with epicenter located about 9 miles north northeast of West Yellowstone, Montana.

No earthquake swarm activity was present during February. There were total 178 registered earthquakes in the Yellowstone National Park region in January 2015. The Yellowstone earthquake swarm constituted 135 earthquakes.

The alert level of recent volcanic activity in Yellowstone National Park is “normal” and current aviation color code is “green.”

Yellowstone National Park is the world's first national park located in the United States.
