Sandstorm in Fujairah region of United Arab Emirates (UAE) today has claimed lives of two people.
"The sandstorm caused a road accident on Dibba-Masafi Road leading to death of two UAE nationals," The Gulf Today has written quoting Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Al Hassani, Head of Public Relations and Information at the GHQ of Fujairah Police.
The strong winds overturned two picnic boats carrying 43 people of different Arab and Asian nationalities who were rescued immediately by the rescue patrols, coastguards, civil defence men and helicopters.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has urged motorists to be cautious on the roads due to dust and sand stirred up by the winds.
"A marine warning has been issued over the weekend, forecasting very rough conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea," Emirates 24|7 has written quoting NCMS.
Unstable weather is predicted in UAE with chances of rain, dust and sand storms this weekend.
