Mount Aso volcano, located about 625 miles southwest of Tokyo, on Kyushu island, has erupted for the first time in 22 years, Japan Today reported.
According to The Japan Meteorological Agency, Mount Aso has been spewing out lava debris and smoke, shooting plumes of ash at least 1,500 meters into the sky.

Mount Aso last eruption was in 1991. Mount Aso is the largest active volcano in Japan.
