Tropical Storm Ana has formed southeast of Hawaii on Monday, Central Pacific Hurricane Center mentioned.

At 03:00 UTC (5:00 PM HST), Tropical Storm Ana was located 1540 km ESE of Hilo and about 1880 km ESE of Honolulu, Hawaii.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph and gradual strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours.

There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect currently.
