Floods in Thailand kill 6: Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department

Floods in seventeen different provinces of Thailand have claimed lives of at least six people, Bangkok Post has written quoting the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department.

According to the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department, flash floods hit Mae Hong Son, Lam Pang, Kamphaeng Phet, Kalasin, Buri Ram, Samut Prakan, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Nakhon Ratchasima, Phetchabun, Loei, Phayao, Nan, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai areas of Thailand.

The floods hit 302 villlages in 71 tambons of 37 districts, affecting 8,051 households.
