Yunnan landslides leave 6 dead, 17 missing

Landslides in Yunnan Province of China have claimed lives of at least six people and left 17 others missing, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Landslide at around 2 a.m. in Minzhu Village, Yunlong County, killed six people. Another landslide struck a silicon mining site in Shawa Village, Fugong County and left 17 others missing.

They are expected to swept into the Nujiang River, which is about 500 meters from the site.

Around 61 people in Yunnan have been killed or were missing due to disasters brought by heavy rain as of June 30, Xinhua mentioned quoting the provincial meteorological bureau.
