Heavy snow in Japan claims 10 lives

Heavy snowfalls in Japan have claimed lives of at least 10 people and injured nearly a thousand.

According to the Xinhua News Service, record snowfalls have been observed at 15 locations in Japan’s Kanto and Koshinersu regions.

Around 600 flights in Tokyo International Airport have been cancelled.

About 49 cm of snow has been recorded in Kofu City in Yamanashi Prefecture, an amount not seen in 120 years.
