$7.5 million FEMA preparedness grants awarded to fire departments

More than $7.5 million preparedness grants have been awarded to the fire departments in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Federal Emergency Management Agency grants will be used by fire departments to boost hiring efforts for firefighters and for recruitment and retention, FEMA news release mentioned.
