M 6.5 earthquake in Puerto Rico, 56 km N of Hatillo

According to the National Weather Service in San Juan, no tsunami reports and no watches or warnings in effect for Puerto Rico.

M 6.5 very strong earthquake shakes Puerto Rico today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 56 km N of Hatillo and 96 km NW of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was 7.7 miles deep.

No immediate damage or injuries have been reported from earthquake in Puerto Rico today.
