Flooding in Mindanao, Philippines claims 12 lives

Flooding in Mindanao region of Philippines has claimed lives of at least 12 people and displaced hundreds of families.

Flash flooding has claimed lives of at least nine people in Davao alone with affecting more than 8,500 families.

Low-pressure area (LPA) caused heavy rainfall and flooding in Mindanao, Philippines.

Landslides and flash flood/flooding

Seven landslides and five flash flood incidents have been reported by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) in its 5 a.m. update, 13 January 2014.
