Flooding in Baghdad prompts emergency public holiday

Flooding caused by heavy rainfall during the past four days has forced the Iraqi government to declare an emergency public holiday on Monday.

Flood waters have entered houses in Qasir al- Abiyadh, as well as Baladiyat and Sadr City of Baghdad.

Latest rainfall is said to be the heaviest in nearly two decades. The rainfall is expected to continue on Monday too.
