Uttarakhand landslide disaster claims 9

Landslide in Uttarakhand, India has claimed lives of at least nine people.

Landslide near Rajpur in Dehradun claimed lives of four members of a family. Four others were swept away at Kapkot area in Bageshwar district.

Similarly swollen Mandkini river swept away a sub-divisional magistrate. He was posted at Kedarnath for emergency disaster duty.

Another landslide in Sulat division of Almora district damaged nine houses.

Heavy rains also hampered disaster relief works, also disaster cleanup operation at Kedarnath shrine.

Uttarakhand landslides, floods in June 2013 had claimed thousands of lives.
