Tropical Storm Kong-Rey has caused widespread flooding in western cities in Taiwan.
Coastal areas of Chiayi, Tainan and Kaohsiung are reported to be worst affected by the floods.
Tropical Storm Kong-Rey has dumped more than 500 millimeters (19 inches) of rain on the heavily populated west coast, AP reported.
More than 30 domestic and international flights to or from capital Taipei and Kaohsiung have been cancelled. Similarly Taiwan Railway Administration has also suspended some services in the south.
Tropical Storm Kong-Rey was located 100 kilometres northeast of Taipei at 4 am GMT, Central Weather Bureau said.
