Tropical Storm in Taiwan: Kong-Rey kills 3

Tropical Storm Kong-Rey has caused widespread flooding in Taiwan and claimed lives of at least three people, emergency officials said.

According to the National Fire Agency, two people died in Yunlin area and another one in southern Pingtung county.

Tropical Storm Kong-Rey caused heavy flooding in coastal areas of Chiayi, Tainan and Kaohsiung.

Kong-Rey, tropical storm in Taiwan has caused Tw$187 million or $6.23 million in agricultural damage in the south,the Council of Agriculture said.

More than 30 domestic and international flights to or from capital Taipei and Kaohsiung were cancelled. Similarly Taiwan Railway Administration had also suspended some services in the south.
