Peshawar flood 2013 prompts emergency

Emergency has been declared in Hayatabad and Regi areas of Peshawar after flooding.

Flash flooding in Bagh and Chitral region of Pakistan have claimed lives of at least four people and left two missing.

Flash floods triggered by a heavy rainfall have washed away about 45 houses in Chitral. Flood damage has been reported from around 150 houses.

Flood water has also washed away a bridge between Chitral and Boni.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to local officials in providing disaster relief to the flood-hit people in Chitral.
