Maharashtra Flood 2013: At least 20 killed in Chandrapur flooding

Recent floods in Chandrapur district in Maharashtra, India have claimed lives of at least 20 people.

Maharashtra Flood has displaced around 3,000 people in Chandrapur district alone, NDTV reported. More than 15,000 houses have been damaged in six districts of east Vidarbha, including Chandrapur. 

Flood victims pelted stones at Maharashtra minister's car on Sunday demanding speedy disaster relief materials.

According to the IBNLive, more than 50 % of crops have been destroyed in around 1.50 lakh hectares of farm land in the district. 

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team is continuously engaged in flood relief work.

The 2005 Maharashtra floods had claimed lives of at least 5,000 people.
