Jammu and Kashmir floods claim 10 lives

Jammu and Kashmir floods have claimed lives of at least ten people including four children.

Others 50 were rescued whereas 17 are still reported to be trapped in Jammu and Samba districts, Free Press Kashmir reported.

Flash flood washed away a newly married couple in Gool area of Ramban district of India. They were returning their home in Sangaldan from Mahore area.

A landslide near Panthal in Ramban district injured two Army men. They are having treatment at Military Hospital in Srinagar, Great Kashmir said.

Floods also washed away several bridges over Nallah Sindh in Kangan district.

Weather is expected to improve from Thursday, The Meteorological Department said.

The 2010 Ladakh floods (also Jammu and Kashmir floods) claimed lives of at least 255 people. Jammu and Kashmir floods damage was Rs. 133 Crore.
