Afghanistan Flood 2013 kills 69, National Disaster Management says

Heavy rains and flooding in Afghanistan have claimed lives of sixty nine people over the weekend, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said today.

Floods have destroyed hundreds of houses and injured 11 others.

Floods hit nine eastern and southeastern provinces of Afghanistan including Kabul, Ghazni, Wardak, Kapisa and Khost provinces, deputy to country's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Mohammad Aslam Sayad told Xinhua News.

Afghanistan lies under the multi hazard high risk zone.
