USGS has not mentioned this earthquake till now. We are trying to reach local seismological agencies. However tremor was well felt in Algiers. Earthquake in Algeria in May 2013 injured several people.

According to the EMSC, the quake's epicenter was located 2 km S of Bouinan and 27 km S of Algiers.

The 2003 Boumerdès earthquake (also northern Algeria earthquake) claimed lives of about 2,266 people. Northern Algeria is situated at the boundary between the African Plate and the Eurasian Plate.
