Maluku dam collapse in Indonesia kills 1, injures 32: Disaster Mitigation Agency

Maluku dam collapse in Indonesia has claimed life on at least one and injured thirty two others, National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said today.

Torrential rain and floods caused the Maluka dam to collapse leaving one dead and another missing.

Out of thirty two, eight people are reported to be seriously injured.

Around 5,200 people have been evacuated from a village near Ambon.

More than 400 mm of rain was recorded in 24h locally which caused the dam to break in Way Ela, central Maluku.
