A state of emergency has been declared after 15,000 people got evacuated due to flooding in Paraguay and Parana rivers.
According to Paraguay weather service, flooding has been caused by heavy rains over the past month in Brazil.
Increase in water levels in Parana river have brought flooding in Paraguay and Argentina.
The government has started to provide flood aid to those living near the Parana and Paraguay rivers, News 24 hours reported.
Paraguay emergency management officials had already warned of severe flooding in Paraguay in coming days. More than 3,000 people were evacuated only in Ayolas, Misiones and Presna Latina a week before.
The 1982-83 Paraguay flooding caused by El Niño had affected parts of Brazil, Argentina and Bolivia. Flood damage was around $3 billion.
