-Following Natural Resources Canada, approximately 450 earthquakes hit eastern Canada each year.

-Earthquake Canada reports magnitude 4.8 centred northwest of Arnprior, in the Braeside area.
-The quake has occurred in the Western Quebec seismic zone.The urban areas of Montreal, Ottawa-Hull and Cornwall are located in this zone.

M 4.4 moderate earthquake shakes southern Ontario, Canada today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 19 km NNE of Shawville and 67 km NW of Ottawa. It was 3.1 miles deep.
Following USGS Pager Map, moderate shaking of MMI V will have felt by the people of Shawville, Fort-Coulonge, Arnprior, Renfrew and Wakefield. People of Pembroke, Gatineau, Ottawa, Clarence-Rockland, Brockville and Cornwall will have felt light shaking of MMI IV..
Tremor was felt as far as Toronto.
