-Russian emergency authorities issued a tsunami warning for Sakhalin and the Kurile islands but was lifted several minutes later.
-Following Russian news agencies, tremors lasted for about five minutes in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on the Kamchatka peninsula. Several residential buildings and schools were evacuated.
-Tremors were also felt in Moscow. At least 850 people were evacuated from buildings in Moscow. The Agency of Hydrometeorological and Environmental monitoring said very weak tremor with MMI I was felt in Moscow. Tremors are rare in Moscow. Last earthquake in Moscow was on March 4, 1977 of 4.0-magnitude quake centered in the Carpathian Mountains.
-Following RT.Com quoting seismic forecasters writes, another quake with the magnitude greater than 7 is expected to hit the Sakhalin region in the coming week.

M 8.3 earthquake hits Sea of Okhotsk, Russia today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 362km WSW of Esso. It was 378.4 miles deep.
Following the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center of the United States, Tsunami is not expected due to great depth of the earthquake.
M 7.7 earthquake hit the same region in July 2008.
