Bakersfield, CA tornado: First time since 1999!

A tornado touched down in Bakersfield, California for the first time since 1999, KTLA reports quoting National Weather Service.

Bakersfield tornado touched near the intersection of Old River Road and Stockdale Highway and the Kern River about 7:10 p.m on May 6, 2013.

Meteorologist earlier assumed it as a 'gustando' but later confirmed a tornado in Bakersfield after official news from National Weather Service.

No tornado damage in Bakersfield has been reported.

1991 Bakersfield tornado is the largest tornado ever recorded in Bakersfield, CA. Following Bakersfield California tornado risk grade and annual tornado data, only seven tornadoes have been recorded in Bakersfield, CA. since 1991.
