  • Landslide in Ningxia, China
    -Landslide in Tongxin County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of China has claimed lives of at least five people.

    -Landslide also injured two others. Injured people are having treatment at a local hospital in Ningxia. Click for detail report on Tongxin China landslide.


Recent Earthquakes 
  • M 4.0 light shallow earthquake in Baja California, Mexico (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located 44 km NNE of Camalu. People of Colonia Vicente Guerrero, Maneadero and Ensenada will have felt weak shaking of MMI II.

  • M 5.7 strong shallow earthquake in Myanmar (@ 4 km depth) with epicenter located 54 km E of Myaydo. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Myaydo, Thayetmyo, Nay Pyi Taw, Pyinmana, Pyay, Taungdwingyi and Magway. People of Loikaw, Meiktila, Hinthada and Taunggyi will have felt weak shaking of MMI III.

  • M 5.5 moderate deep earthquake in Eastern New Guinea Reg, Papua New Guinea 9@ 181 km depth) with epicenter located 130 km N of Lae. People of Madang, Kainantu, Lae, Finschhafen, Bulolo, Goroka and Wau.
    14:10 UTC (local time Friday, April 05, 2013 at 12:10 AM @ epicenter) 
  • M 4.7 moderate earthquake in Libertador O'higgins, Chile (@ 48 km depth) with epicenter located 29 km W of Santa Cruz. People of Curico, Chimbarongo and San Vicente.

  • M 5.4 moderate deep earthquake in Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan (@ 241 km depth) with epicenter located 43 km WSW of Ashkasham. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Jalal Abad, Kabul (Afghanistan), Peshawar and Islamabad (Pakistan).

Erupting Volcanoes: Fuego, Reventador, Etna, Nyiragongo, Ol Doniyo Lengai, Erta Ale, Barren Island, Raung, Paluweh, Gamalama, Sakurajima, Kakar, Tinakula, Yasur, Tolbachik and Kilauea.
  • Russia (Kamchatka)/Plosky Tolbachik recent volcanic activity
    -The intensified volcano activity on Plosky Tolbachik volcano has been recorded.
    -Volcanologist are reporting increase in the lava flow volumes from the main crater. However they have denied any threat to nearby village.


Recent Tropical Cyclones
There is no tropical storm activity for today.
