Kenya floods kill 32, displace 18,000 plus

Recent floods in Kenya have claimed lives of 32 people and displaced more than 18,000 people, The Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) says.

Floods in Kenya in this rainy season has affected the people mostly in Western, Tana delta and the Rift Valley.

Heavy rains have collapsed a bridge near Naivasha. A section of the Nairobi-Nakuru highway has been closed.
Heavy vehicles are noticed to use the Mai Mahiu road.
The government has allocated Sh500 million as emergency funds to repair flood-damaged roads.

Flooding in Tana River County has washed away more than 10,000 hectares of crops in Tana Delta District. The Kenya Red Cross Society has send flood relief items to 12,000 flood victims in Hirimani.
