Victorian tornadoes injure 17, three critical

Tornadoes in Victoria, Australia has injured 17 people. Victorian tornadoes damaged several buildings.

Two tornadoes in Victoria, Australia have injured 17 people leaving three in critical stage. Around 11 people are having treatment at Yarrawonga Hospital. Three of them are in critical stage.

ABC News quotes The State Emergency Service (SES) and reports at least two tornadoes between Cobram and Yarrawonga area.

Tornadoes hit along Murray river and damaged several building in Yarrawonga, Bundalong, Rutherglen, Koonoomoo and Mulwala area.

Port Phillip tornado in 1837 is the first tornado in Australia to be observed. Tornado was observed in Central Victoria. A small tornado was recorded in Ballarat, Victoria in January 2013.  

Tornadoes can occur in any time of the year. Tornadoes in Victoria are more frequent in February, November and December.
