Tornado in Bangladesh claims 20 including 10-year-old girl

Tornado in Bangladesh claims 14 lives. Tornado caused huge loss in Sadar, Bijoynagar and Akhaura Upazilas of Brahmanbaria district of Bangladesh.Death toll is expected to rise.

-Death toll from tornado in Bangladesh has risen to 20.
-Tornado hit Brahmanbaria district, located 109 km east of Bangladesh's capital Dhaka.
-Family of dead people will be given relief amount of 20,000 Taka (about 250 U.S. dollars) and those wounded 5,000 Taka (about 62.5 U.S. dollars) by the Disaster Management and Relief ministry.
-An army medical team from Comilla Cantonment is working in the tornado affected area.

Tornado in Bangladesh has claimed fourteen lives and injured more than 500 people. A 10-year-old girl Sumi Begum from Jaruitala of Akhaura Upazila also died in the tornado.

Tornado disaster caused huge damage in Sadar, Bijoynagar and Akhaura Upazilas of Brahmanbaria district of Bangladesh.

Most of the injured people are having treatment at Sadar hospital. Injured people are from Sadar, Sultanpur, Mohammadpur, Patirahata, Candapura, Basudeba, Bhatasala, Jarulatala and Kheyai village.
 
A bus lost its control during strong winds and overturned along Comilla - Chittagong highway injuring dozen of passengers.

Tornado in Bangladesh damaged several houses, agricultural crops and uprooted trees and electric poles.

Bangladesh is third country with the highest frequency of tornadoes, behind the United States and Canada.
