Tornado hits Hokitika, New Zealand

Tornado in Hokitika damaged at least five buildings, including the District Council building.

Tornado in Hokitika, New Zealand on March 31, 2013 has injured one people. The twister touched down about 12.30 and torn off roofs of several houses including Railway Hotel Motel in Weld Street.

No injury has been reported.

Net service New Zealand expects heavy rainfall for the West Coast today.

Three people were killed after tornado hit New Zealand city of Auckland in December 2012.
