Landslide in Uttarakhand, India kills 10

A landslide in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India has killed 10 pilgrims. They were returning to their homes at Bhansari village from Yamuna valley.

Landslide in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand has killed 10 pilgrims. A taxi was hit by a huge rock triggered by a landslide along Dehradun-Yamnotri highway. The taxi then fell into Yamuna river.
All landslide victims are from Bhansari village of Uttarkashi.

The disaster occurred around 4:30 pm when the pilgrims were returning to their homes at Bhansari village from Yamuna valley after offering prayers at Lord Shiva temple.

Flash floods in Uttarakhand in 2012 (Himalayan flash floods) killed 10 people. It was the worst natural tragedy to hit the area in 34 years. Uttarakhand is a major tourist spot in India.
