Several areas in northern Taiwan have experienced rare hailstorms today evening.
Hailstorm in Taiwan came with lightning, thunder and heavy rain. Hailstorm lasted for less than one minute. Hailstone in Taiwan ranged from 0.5 centimeters to 1.5 centimeters, Taiwan Central News Agency mentions.
The Taiwan Weather Bureau had issued the first ever hailstorm warning for Taiwan and predicted the hailstones as big as 6 centimeters in diameter.

People described the hailstorm as "unbelievable" and some said it was their first time seeing the power of nature, CNA mentions.
No damage or injuries were reported by the hailstorm in Taiwan.
More rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in Taichung City, Miaoli, Hsinchu and Changhua counties. The Central Weather Bureau has also warned of possible mudslides in the mountainous area of central and southern Taiwan.
