  • Flood in Malaysia
    -More than 10,8000 people displaced due to flood in the east coast of peninsular Malaysia. Recent floods have affected Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang area of Malaysia.
    -The Kelantan River at the Guillemard Bridge in Tanah Merah, Golok River in Jenob, Tanah Merah and in Rantau Panjang are running above the danger level.
    -A total 52 flood relief centres were now open all over Terengganu.
    -Flood in Kuantan is expected to be worst since 1971.
    Terengganu: Around 5,297 victims are in evacuation centers. Flood relief centres in operation in Terengganu are: Besut (16), Dungun (12), Hulu Terengganu (16), Kemaman (13), Kuala Terengganu (eight), Marang (10) and Setiu (18).
    Kelantan: Around 3,218 victims are in evacuation centers. In Kelantan, Pasir Mas has the highest number of evacuees at 2,049, followed by Kuala Krai (355), Kota Baharu (264), Tanah Merah (217), Pasir Puteh (245), Machang (47) and Tumpat (41).
    Pahang: Around 2,376 victims are in evacuation centers. Victims have been evacuated in Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin.

  • M 2.6 weak shallow earthquake in Northern California (@ 2 km depth) with epicenter located just 4 km W from Cobb. It will have well felt by the people of The Geysers, Anderson Springs, Santa Rosa, Middletown and Ukiah.

  • M 4.4 light shallow earthquake in Southern Alaska (@ 27 km depth) with epicenter located 58 km SSE from Glacier View. Weak shaking of MMI III will have felt by the people of Valdez, Anchorage, Chugiak, Cordova, Eagle River, Glennallen, Palmer, Valdez and Willow.

Recent Volcanic Activity
Erupting Volcanoes: Fuego, Santiago, Poas, Reventador, Nyiragongo, Ol Doniyo Lengai, Raung, Erta Ale, Paluweh, Gamalama, Batu Tara, Sakurajima, Manam, Ulawun, Tolbachik and Kilauea volcano.


Recent Tropical Cyclones
  • Tropical Depression Wukong
    -As of 12:00 UTC, TD Wukong was located 370 nm southeast of Manila, Philippines.
    -The eye of the storm Wukong is expected to hit on Samar island on Wednesday.
    -Flood and landslide warnings are issued across the central and southern Philippines on Christmas Day.
    -The Philippines is hit by about 20 major storms or typhoons each year.
