- Extreme weather in Algarve, Portugal
-Extreme weather and strong wind caused heavy damage in Algarve, Portugal.
-Algarve tornado injured thirteen people.
-Lagoa and Silves were the worst hit areas. Most of those injured were pulled out of overturned vehicles.

18:12 UTC (local time Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 05:12 AM at epicenter) - M 5.3 moderate earthquake near the east coast of Honshu, Japan (@ 35 km depth) with epicenter located 59 km SSE of Hasaki, Japan. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Ohara, Asahi, Yokaichiba, Chiba-shi, Choshi-shi, Kawasaki-shi, Miho-mura, Ota, Tsukuba, Yokosuka-shi and Tokyo.
08:25 UTC (local time Friday, November 16, 2012 at 05:25 PM @ epicenter) - M 4.0 light earthquake in Benguet, Philippines (@ 21 km depth) with epicenter located 4 km southwest of Tuba, Benguet. Weak shaking of MMI III will have felt by the people of Baguio city.
- M 4.9 moderate shallow earthquake in Northwestern Iran (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located 30 km W of Ahar. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Tabriz, Marand and Kapan (Armenia).
03:58 UTC (local time Friday, November 16, 2012 at 07:28 AM @ epicenter) - M 5.1 moderate earthquake in Antofagasta, Chile (@ 56 km depth) with epicenter 103 km NE of Tocopilla. Weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Calama, Iquique and Antofagasta.

- M 4.7 moderate earthquake near the coast of Central Peru (@ 48 km depth) with epicenter located 25 km SSW of San Vicente de Canete. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Imperial, Nuevo Imperial, Chincha Alta, Huanza, Ica, Pisco, Pueblo Nuevo, San Borja and Lima.

- Flash floods in Tenom, Malaysia
-Heavy rainfall caused flash flooding in Kg Undusan in Tenom Malysia. Five houses were completely damaged.
-River Sungai Bakoi outburst it bank and flooded the nearby area. Flash flood is expected as the worst since 2009.

-The aviation alert level around the central North Island has been raised to yellow. Following GNS Science, the pressure was building under Mt Ruapehu and there was an chance it will erupt.
-Eruptions are more likely predicted in the coming weeks to months.
-Climbers and hikers are urged to stay away from the summit of Mt Ruapehu.
