-Two killed in recent flash floods in central Quang Nam and Central Highland Dak Lak province of Vietnam.
-Floods destroyed 490 houses and swept away two bridges in Ea H'el District.
-Landslide and flooding in northern and central Vietnam killed 29 people this September.

- M 3.4 light shallow earthquake in Southern California (@ 9 km depth) with epicenter located 3 km N from Lake Elsinore. It will have well felt by the people of Lakeland Village, Canyon Lake, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, Perris, Menifee, Sun City, Corona and Orange.
13:00 UTC (local time Tuesday, October 09, 2012 at 06:00 AM @ epicenter) - M 6.4 strong shallow harmless earthquake in Balleny Islands Region (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 729 km NW of Young Island. The populated area is very far from the epicenter.
12:32 UTC (local time Tuesday, October 09, 2012 at 10:32 PM @ epicenter) - M 3.0 weak shallow earthquake in Oklahoma (@ 5 km depth) with epicenter located 13 km NNE of Luther. It will have well felt by the people of Guthrie, Edmond, Choctaw, Stillwater, Arcadia, Coyle, Covington, Crescent and Oklahoma city. Click for recent earthquakes in Oklahoma.
08:49 UTC (local time Tuesday, October 09, 2012 at 03:49 AM @ epicenter) - M 4.6 moderate earthquake in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia (@ 54 km depth) with epicenter located 41 km SSW of Bireun. Weak shaking of MMI III will have felt by the people of Reuleuet, Lhokseumawe and Sigli.

- Typhoon Prapiroon
-As of 15:00 UTC, Typhoon Prapiroon (local name Nina) was located 555 nm south-southeast of Kadena air base, Okinawa, Japan.
-Flights canceled in some parts of Luzon, Philippines due to bad weather conditions from Prapiroon. - Cyclone Olivia
-As of 15:00 UTC, Cyclone Olivia was located 1530 km WSW of the southern tip of Baja California. No threat to land.
Natural Disaster News
- Wildfire in Vitosha Mountain, Bulgaria
-Wildfire reported on the Vitosha Mountain just outside Bulgaria's capital Sofia. It is burning in Mecha Polyana (Bear's Glade) area between the Aleko center and the Bistrishko Branishte reserve in the mountain.
-Around 70 firefighters are struggling to control the blaze.

-Coronal mass ejections, caused by powerful explosions on the surface of the sun, is expected to reach over the planet's polar regions today.
-They could create brilliant displays of northern lights (aurora borealis) in places in Alaska, such as Juneau and Anchorage.
