- Hurricane Sandy
-Hurricane Sandy made landfall west of Santiago de Cuba in southern Cuba.
-Hurricane Sandy killed 21 people in the Caribbean, including 11 people in eastern Cuba. Sandy affected parts of Jamaica, Cuba, the Bahamas and Haiti.
-Sandy destroyed more than 3,000 homes in Cuba and caused power outages and minor flooding in Bahamas.
-At 2100 GMT, the eye of the hurricane sandy was near Cat Island in the Central Bahamas, about 60 miles southeast of Eleuthera.

- Flash flooding in Gaziantep, Turkey
-Three killed in flash flooding in Turkey. Flood disaster occurred along Gaziantep-Sanl urfa highway in southeastern Turkey.
-Several people are reported to be missing in the tragedy. Incident occurred during the holidays of Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).
-Torrential rainfall closed Luleburgaz-Corlu highway for seven hours.
-Floods is the second most destructive natural disaster in Turkey after earthquakes.

- M 4.5 moderate shallow earthquake in Greece (@ 17 km depth) with epicenter located 9 km E of Pelasyia. People of Lamia, Volos and Levadeia will have felt just a weak shaking of MMI II-III.
23:16 UTC (local time Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 02:16 AM @ epicenter) - M 4.5 moderate shallow earthquake in Northwestern Iran (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 34 km SW of Ahar. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Tabriz, Marand and Hashtrud.
22:31 UTC (local time Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 02:01 AM @ epicenter) - M 4.7 moderate earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan Region (@ 60 km depth) with epicenter located 86 km ENE of Misawa. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Hachinohe, Mutsu and Ichinohe.
00:33 UTC (local time Friday, October 26, 2012 at 09:33 AM @ epicenter) - M 5.3 strong very shallow earthquake in Southern Italy (@ 4 km depth) with epicenter located just 5 km W of Morano Calabro. Moderate shaking of MMI V will have felt by the people of Castrovillari, Alessandria del Carretto, Cassano al Ionio, Scalea, Morano Calabro, Mormanno, Rotonda and Cosenza. People of Capaccio, Naples, Palermo, Taranto and Voghera will have felt light to weak shaking.

Update
Earthquake occurred north of Cosenza in the Pollino mountains area on the border of the southern regions of Calabria and Basilicata. A hospital in Mormanno was evacuated immediately.

- Flash floods in Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines
-At least 1,250 families evacuated due to flooding and landslide tragedy in Buug and Lamare area of Philippines.
-Following Local weather bureau of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), rainfall was caused by the monsoon and enhanced by the tail ends of tropical storm Ofel.

Philippines natural hazards 2012 - Flooding in Wawa, Ontario, Canada
-A state of emergency declared in Wawa.
-Floods water closed a part of Highway 17 at Catfish creek. An area 25 kilometres south of Wawa on the same highway was also closed.

- Hurricane Sandy
-As of 09:00 UTC, hurricane Sandy was located 25 km E of Great Abaco Island and 770 km SSE of Charleston South Carolina.
-A Hurricane Warning is in effect for the northwestern Bahamas except Andros Island.
-Sandy is a category one hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane wind scale.
-Hurricane Sandy killed 21 people in the Caribbean, including 11 people in eastern Cuba. Click for detail report on hurricane Sandy. - Tropical Storm Son-tinh
-As of 09:00 UTC, TS Son-tinh (local name Ofel) was located 415 nm east- southeast of hue, Vietnam.
-Tropical Storm Son-tinh killed six people in Philippines. Other 10 were injured in the disaster.
-It also caused landslide in San Juan, a town in Northern Philippine province of Batangas.
-More than 4,474 people are currently living in 37 evacuation centers. - Tropical Cyclone Murjan
-As of 09:00 UTC, TC Murjan was located 140 nm south-southwest of cape guardafui, Somalia.

- Earthquake warning in Iceland
-Icelandic authorities warned the people in north of the island to prepare for a possible major earthquake.
-The earthquake warning was issued because of several minor quakes in an area under the sea about 20 km off the north of Iceland. - Earthquake scientists sentenced to jail
-Six scientists have been sentenced to jail for inadequate risk assessment and sending scientifically incorrect messages to the public before the L'Aquila earthquake. 2009 L'Aquila earthquake killed 309 people.
