  • M 6.2 very strong shallow earthquake Off the East Coast of Honshu, Japan (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located 97 km ENE of Miyako. Moderate to light shaking will have felt by the people of Miyako, Yamada, Otsuchi, Kamaishi, Tono, Ofunato and Morioka. People of Aomori, Akita, Sendai and Yamagata will have felt weak shaking of MMI III.

  • M 4.2 light earthquake in Romania (@ 80 km depth) with epicenter located 4 km W Paltin. It will have well felt by the people of Covasna and Focsani.

  • M 3.0 weak shallow earthquake in Islands of Hawaii (@ 7 km depth) with epicenter located 7 km S from Honaunau-Napoopoo. It will have welll felt by the pople of Captain Cook, Kealakekua, Hilo and Kealakekua.

  • M 4.6 moderate shallow earthquake in Turkmenistan (@ 23 km depth) with epicenter located 76 km SW from Gyzylarbat. It will have well felt by the people of Balkanabat (Nebitdag), Bojnurd and Ashgabat.

  • M 4.6 moderate earthquake in Coquimbo, Chile (@ 54 km depth) with epicenter located 21 km S of Ovalle. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Monte Patria, Coquimbo and  Illapel.

  • M 4.8 moderate earthquake near the East Coast of Honshu, Japan (@ 42 km depth) with epicenter located 53 km ENE of Hasaki. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Kashima-shi, Omigawa and Asahi.

    -TS Jelawat killed two and injured 145 others in Japan.
    -Heavy rainfall caused blackouts and disrupted traffic in the southern and western parts of Tokyo.

    -As of 15:00 UTC, TS Nadine was located 1110 km W of the Azores.
    -A tropical storm watch is in effect for the Azores.

    -Saudi Arabia plans to build new dams north of Jeddah, to complement five dams to prevent disastrous floods during rainy season.
    -Flooding in 2009 in Jeddah killed 500 people.
