• Landslides in Uttarakhand, India
  -Seven Nepali workers killed in landslide in Uttarakhand, India.
  -Landslide disaster occured when they were digging for road construction in Darma area, 50 kilometers north of Dharchula in Pithoragarh.

  -About 24 homes evacuated due to heavy flooding and mudlsides caused by heavy rains in Jacobs Ranch subdivision.

  -Storms and wind also knock out power for more than 14,000 Utahns.

• M 3.7 light earthquake in Haiti Region (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located just 4 km S of Leogane. It will have well felt by the people of Grand Goave, Gressier, Petit Goave, Croix-des-Bouquets, Jacmel, Léogâne and Port-au-Prince.

• M 4.8 moderate shallow earthquake in Pakistan (@ 12 km depth) with epicenter located 30 km NW Sibi (Balochistan province). Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Quetta and Sibi.

  -A child reported to be injured after the roof of a house collapsed.
  -Tremors were well felt in parts of Quetta city, Khuzdar and Kalat. 
• M 5.0 moderate earthquake in Eastern Iran (@ 26 km depth) with epicenter located 78 km ESE of Qayen. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Birjand, Gonabad and Taybad.

Ongoing Major River Floods (Based on Satellite observation): Argentina,Botswana (Selinda), Brazil (River Tocantins), Cameroon (River Benue), Chad, China (River Mekong, River Huang He and River Brahmaputra), Colombia (River Japura, River Rio Negro and River Magdelena), Ethiopia, Guinea, Honduras, India 9River Ganges), Laos (River Mekong), Mali (River Niger), Mexico, Nigeria (River Benue and River Niger), Panama, Senegal, Sudan and Venezuela (River Orinoco).

• Flooding in  St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana
  -About 600 people evacuated from the area east of Louisiana 41 between Bush and Hickory because of recent floods.
• Flash floods in Carbondale, Illinois
  -Spotters report flooding in front of Amtrak Station in Carbondale, IL.
  -Several buildings along with Varsity Theater Building reported to be flooded.

• Flash floods in  Myagdi, Nepal
  -Flash floods swept away bridge along the border of Majhphant and Dhairing VDCs of Parbat, Nepal.
  -Flooding in the Lungdi rivulet obstructs transport facility to and from Myagdi .

  -Explosive eruption reported at Bezyianni volcano in Kamchatka, Russia.
  -The explosion produced an ash cloud rising to about 10 km altitude.

Recent Tropical Cyclones

• Tropical Storm Leslie
  -As of 03:00 UTC, TS Leslie was located 495 km NE of the Leeward Islands.
  -Leslie is moving toward the northwest near 18 mph. Swells generated by Leslie could affect portions of the Leeward Islands through the weekend and begin to affect Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands on Sunday.
• Tropical Storm Kirk
  -As of 03:00 UTC, TS Kirk was located 1090 km ESE of Cape Race Newfoundland.
  -Kirk is weakening and expected to become a Post-tropical cyclone soon.
  -Kirk is moving toward the northeast near 29 mph. No threat to land.
• Tropical Storm Ileana
  -As of 03:00 UTC, TS Ilena was located 1075 km W of the southern tip of Baja California.
  -Ileana is expected to become a Post-tropical remnant low on Sunday. No threat to land.

  -Wildfire burns 125 acres in Shasta County.

  -As of 04:00 UTC, the fire is 70 percent contained.
