Recent Natural Disasters

• Flash floods in Balochistan, Pakistan
  -Two killed and eight others reported to be missing in flash floods in Balochistan region of Pakistan.
  -Recent floods have affected Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Kohlu, Barkhan, Rakhni, Sibi, Qila Saifullah, Zhob, Harnai, Loralai and Musa Khail districts of Balochistan, Pakistan.
  -All the train services suspended in Balochistan after rain water submerged the portion of railway track at Jacobabad-Sibi Junction.
  -Floods triggered by torrential monsoon rains have killed 150 people this year in Pakistan.

• M 4.9 moderate shallow earthquake in Philippine Island Region (@ 4 km depth) with epicenter located 81 km ENE of San Isidro. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Guiuan, Placer and Surigao.

• M 4.6 moderate earthquake in Kyrgyzstan (@ 28 km depth) with epicenter located 84 km SSW from Talas. Just a weak shaking will have felt by the people of Namangan and Andijon (Andizhan).

• M 5.5 moderate earthquake in Crete, Greece (@ 27 km depth) with epicenter located 58 km SE of Palaiochora. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Palaiochora, Ayia Galini, Atsipopoulon, Tympakion, Rethymnon, Kalivai and Chania. People of Irakleion, Nea Alikarnassos, Ierapetra and Agios Nikolaos will have felt weak shaking of MMI III.

• M 4.6 moderate earthquake in Costa Rica (@ 37 km depth) with epicenter located just 5 km NNE of Nicoya. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Santa Cruz, Canas, Liberia and Samara.

  -One killed in flash floods in Ba, Fiji.
  -Ba is a district situation on the North Western part of the island of Viti Levu in Fiji.

  -Nadine is forecast to become a hurricane by Thursday. Currently no threat to land.
• Typhoon Sanba
  -As of 03:00 UTC, Typhoon Sanba was locted 590 nm east of Manila, Philippines.
  -Typhoon Sanba is forecast to strike South Korea at about 12:00 GMT on 17 September.

• Wildfire in Eastern Washington
  -Wildfire in eastern Washington injured one firefighter and burned three homes.
  -Fifty four homes were evacuated along Mission Creek Road near Cashmere. Fire is 20% contained.
